Beverley grew up in Kansas City attending Graceland Grade School through the third grade. Her parents began fostering her interests in the creative arts beginning at age six with summer classes at the William Rockhill Nelson Art Museum. She spent many happy hours in the Museum, participating in their children's craft classes and educational tours. The Museum was one of the places she loved to visit on every return to Kansas City. The Jones Family attended Oak Park Christian Church in Kansas City both before and after their time in Washington, D.C.

During World War I her father served in two years of special classes at Kansas University (as a part of The Army Specialized Training Program) for selected inductees into the Navy. He re-enlisted in the Navy in World War II and was based in Washington, D.C. from 1943 to 1946 in the Minesweeping Department, Bureau of Ships. The family accompanied him on this "Duration Vacation" and took advantage of the many opportunities to tour memorials, museums, art galleries, and attend operas, ballets, and concerts. One of Beverley's favorite places was the Smithsonian, which at that time had its' entire collection in one building, except for the art which was housed in the Corcoran Gallery, next door.

While living in Washington, Beverley attended the John Quincy Adams School and graduated from the Petworth Grade School. The family attended National City Christian Church. When the War was over, the family returned to Kansas City but traveled often back East for more exposure to the arts as well as taking advantage of events taking place in Kansas City.

Beverley finished her Elementary education at Graceland Elementary School. She moved on to Paseo High School where she was a member of the first full Eighth Grade Class to attend there. She took as many art classes as possible in high school and had private painting lessons. She attended Drury University in Springfield, Missouri, where she became a member of Delta Delta Delta and met her future husband.

In later life she attended The University of Missouri at Kansas City, Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, and Northwest Community College in Winsted, Connecticut, taking art history, painting, Law, and many Writing Seminars. For several years, in Connecticut, she studied with Frank Mullins, a professional Illustrator and teacher at Pratt Institute in New York. She enjoyed painting for the rest of her life.

In 1953 she was married to Wm. Carl Zimmerman of Camdenton, Missouri on August 28, 1953 at the Country Club Christian Church in Kansas City. They resided in Topeka, Kansas while he was a law student at Washburn University. Upon his graduation and admittance to the bar, they decided to stay in Topeka to raise their four children, two boys and two girls.

Beverley was very active in volunteer work joining a local hospital Auxiliary and founding a Candy Stripers group, being a Cub Scout Den Mother for both boys, teaching crafts to Blue Bird Leaders, and joining Delta Delta Delta Alumnae Group and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a 65+ year member of Delta Delta Delta and a 55+ year member of DAR.The Zimmermans joined St. Davids Episcopal Church while in Topeka.

In 1966 the Zimmermans moved to Winsted in Northwestern Connecticut where Beverley continued to volunteer, primarily with Child and Family Services of Connecticut andthe Junior Women's Club of Winsted. She continued to be a Cub Scout Leader as well as a Blue Bird Leader for both girls. While living in Winsted, the entire family became involved in Community Theater. Beverley began her association with the groups by making costumes, worked her way through props, stage managing, and finally producing. The entire family was involved at every level.

At the same time, a high point of Beverley's' life was serving as Technical Director to a fledgling Ballet Company founded in Torrington, Connecticut by Artistic Director Sharon Dante. The group began by presenting lecture/demos in local elementary and high schools using guest artists from The Hartford Ballet and The American Ballet Theater of New York City. It is now known as the Nutmeg Conservatory of Torrington, Connecticut. The familychurch in Winsted was St. James Episcopal.

The Zimmermans then moved to Lakeville, Connecticut. Beverley continued to be a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader for her two girls. Their church was St. Johns' Episcopal in Salisbury, Connecticut, where Beverley taught Sunday School and served on the Vestry.

After divorcing in 1976, Beverley seemed uniquely qualified to become an Interior Designer. Her mother, an expert seamstress herself, had taught her to embroider at the age of three and then when she was nine taught her to use the sewing machine. At her friends urging, she applied for a job and training at a successful design firm with which she had worked on her own houses since moving to Connecticut. The owner agreed, hired her, trained her, and started Beverley on a twenty-five-year career in Interior Design which she enjoyed enormously. Based in Ashley Falls, Massachusetts, she worked also in New York, and Connecticut The last ten of those years, she had her own shop in Lakeville, Connecticut, working locally as well as in New York City and Boston. She and her business partner had a lengthy client list and worked with many New York Designers who had local clients. The two also were asked to participate in a local radio show in Lakeville, Connecticut which was written by Beverley. It was a question-and-answer format, with questions sent in by listeners.

In 2004 Beverley moved to Mountain View, California to be near her adult children and grandchildren. She transferred to the El Palo Alto Chapter of DAR which is active in volunteer work with Veterans and providing scholarships to local students. She also transferred her membership in the Delta Delta Delta Alumnae Group.

Due to her association with DAR, Beverley became very interested in Genealogy and was well trained by Gayle Simons, who helped her to research twenty-two families in Missouri, Kansas, Kentucky, Virginia, Iowa and Pennsylvania. Beverley became a member of The Blue Springs Historical Society, The Jackson County Historical Society, State Historical Society of Missouri, The Harrodsburg, Kentucky Historical Society, The Woodford County, Kentucky Historical Society, and San Mateo County Historical Society. She also joined the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the William Clarke Quantrill Society.
