Obituary

Zengshou Yuan, born in Shanghai, was the daughter of Shuzhi Yuan and Cuifan Wei.  After bravely fighting diabetes and chronic systolic heart failure for more than 20 years, she passed peacefully surrounded by family at Stanford Medical Center on January 11, 2023.  She is survived by her husband Jinlin Wu and her two children Jay Wu and Bin Wu.

Zengshou is a kind person with a big loving heart. She had lived a full life, achieved a successful career, and raised wonderful children and grandchildren.  She had been so close with her loved ones in the big family for over 20 years.  She had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. She was often spending her spare time researching topics of interest.

Zengshou had very strong values and was well liked by everyone, mostly due to her positive energy.  She had incredible patience, and always made time to help others.  She would love to be remembered with funny, strange, or silly stories that celebrate what was good and blessed in her life. Her love for all of us in the big family lives on.

There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are to those who were there for us on the night of her passing.  Also a heartfelt thank you to the teams at Stanford Hospital, Palo Alto Medical Foundation and City of Palo Alto emergency medical services for doing everything they could.

There will be a Celebration of her life on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 2:00 pm to honor her. It will be held at Spangler Mortuary's Mountain View Chapel.
