Over 104 years Yvonne Pearl Brock was born in Bolivar, Missouri in 1922. Her parents James and Lucy Brock moved their family to California in 1927. Her one brother Harold, sister Helen and Ruth all made their home in Santa Clara county. 

Yvonne met and married Eddie Erickson in 1941 and they lived in Sunnyvale all their married years. Eddie passed away in 1984. Yvonne was more than just a homemaker, she was a caregiver, gardener, home canner, and even even roofed a small house they were living in. She worked at El Camino Hospital as a volunteer for over 30 years. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Cupertino since 1956. Her vision became weaker and she was nearly blind. That stopped her volunteer and church work. 

After moving to Morgan Hill with her daughter, she attended Bethel Baptist Church. Even with failing eyesight, she knitted 100's of caps for homeless and children's shelters. 

Her small family consists of one daughter, Judith Mordecai, two granddaughters, Meredith Capenter with husband Brian, and Erica Henry with husband Scott. She has great granddaughters, Makaiela Carpenter and Elaine Matos. 

She died at her daughter's home in Morgan Hill on August 27, 2026. Services will be held at Spangler Mortuary in Sunnyvale, 174 N. Sunnyvale Ave, Sunnyvale, Ca 94086, on Sept. 17, 2026 at 12:00 noon.
