Obituary of Viven Frances Efting
Vivien Frances Wright Efting, age 88, went to be with her Lord on December 2, 2014. She was born in Grand Rapids, MI on November 14, 1926, married Howard Efting on January 30, 1947 and moved to California in 1956. After her youngest child was born, she followed a long-time dream to become a teacher. After earning her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from San Jose State she taught in the Mountain View School District for 17 years. Following her retirement she was involved with Bible Study Fellowship, serving as a small group facilitator for many years. She was a founding member of Valley Church, in Cupertino, devoting many years to their missions outreach. She was an avid correspondent, praying for and encouraging friends and family around the world. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard, parents J. Eugene and Meg Wright and brother Rev. J. Eugene Wright, Jr. She is survived by her children Emily (Nelson) Coles, James (Gail) Efting, Richard (Jill) Efting, Stephen Efting, seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, December 14 at Valley Church. Interment will be at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine, CA.
