Dr. Veena Charu, a devoted physician, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026 at the age of 74.

For decades, Dr. Charu served as an oncologist in Orange County, tirelessly dedicating her life to the care of patients facing cancer. She was known not only for her exceptional clinical skill, but for her deep compassion, steady presence, and unwavering commitment to those she treated. Her work touched countless lives—patients, families, and colleagues—who will remember her for both her expertise and her humanity.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, she was the heart of her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Prakash; her two sons, Vinay (Becky) and Vivek (Andrea); and her cherished grandson, Avi, who brought her immense joy. She was a source of strength, wisdom, and quiet generosity, and her family will carry forward the values she lived by.
