Thuy Tien Tran (陳水仙) of Mountain View, California, passed away on September 12, 2024 at home with family at the age of 88.  She was born in Hai Phong city,  the 4th of 10 siblings, to Tran Kim Khan and Quach Thi Hue, who had immigrated from China.

Thuy Tien lived a long and adventurous life as daughter, sister, loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She fled from war twice.  The first time with her parents and siblings from North Vietnam to South Vietnam in 1954 during the Geneva Accords.  Then with her husband and children from Vietnam to the U.S. in 1979 after the fall of South Vietnam

She was caring and generous and would help anyone in need. She had a playful and strong entrepreneurial spirit, creating small businesses from ideas she had.  She loved gardening, music, cooking and was adept at all kinds of craft-making.  She devoted her life to taking care of her children and grandchildren.

Thuy Tien  is survived by her husband of 60 years, Tieu Chieu Luong (梁小照); her three children Daphne/Huetu, Vincent, Vanvi, and spouses Randy, Tingting, Deanna; her brothers Van Tuan, Springfield, Minh Van, Van Duong, and her grandchildren Tyler, McKinley, Kira, Dustin, Chloe and Connor.

The family will be at Spangler Los Altos Chapel on Sunday, September 29 from 11:00 a.m to receive visitors and to observe a celebration of life service. The ceremony will be followed by a reception starting at 12:30.
