Steven
Tyler
July 8, 1964 – January 15, 2024
We lost our brother Steve Tyler Tuesday morning, January 16. Steve was born Steven Anthony Drzymkowski to Edwin and Lillian (Mierzwinski) Drzymkowski, July 8, 1964 in a multi-ethnic neighborhood on the northwest side of Chicago; the family moved to Downers Grove when Steve was 9. He attended Eastern Illinois University and graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Steve moved to San Francisco after graduation where he worked in the Aerospace industry as a "Rocket Scientist" as he liked to say. After earning his master's degree at Stanford University he entered the field of medical technology, specializing in vascular devices. Steve held several patents of unique stents and became highly sought after for his skill and experience in advancing new devices through FDA approval, sometimes assisting during surgeries to demonstrate proper use of the device.
Steve was an extremely bright, fun loving father (Cleo and Max), brother (Barb Wichmann, Bob Drzymkowski, Debbie O'Malley, Cheryl Gregorek, Greg Drzymkowski) and friend to many. He had a great sense of humor, always looking for the light and funny side of life. He maintained many strong friendships, some from his elementary school days. He loved to travel, loved music, was an inspired chef and brought joy to everyone who knew him. He was not a man you meet every day, truly an individual. Our brother, father and friend will be sorely missed.
