In Loving Memory of Shehan Perera, January 15, 1983 - June 10, 2023
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Shehan Perera, a beloved husband, son, brother and friend. Shehan departed this world all too soon on June 10 th , 2023 after a short illness.
Shehan was born on January 15th 1983, to Neelamani and Bennet Perera. From a young age, his love of family and friends was apparent to everyone who was fortunate enough to meet him. With his infectious smile, mischievous laugh, and compassionate heart, he touched the lives of countless individuals, leaving an enduring impression on everyone he encountered.
Shehan possessed a zest for life that was both contagious and inspiring. From his earliest days, he approached every endeavor with passion and curiosity. After graduating university, he built a successful CPA firm partnering with his father. With his love of solving complex problems, he excelled at his professional work with ease. But what he loved the most was simply working with his father, employees and clients.
Although he had a brilliant mind, Shehan was equally known for his generous spirit and boundless kindness. He had an uncanny ability to make others feel seen, heard, and valued. His selflessness was evident in the countless acts of kindness he bestowed upon those around him, always extending a helping hand or lending a sympathetic ear. He went out of his way to look for those who he could help.
Shehan had a deep passion for traveling. Whether it was hopping in the car for a quick weekend trip down the coast, heading off to Hawaii just because, or traversing Europe with his friends, he never missed an opportunity to explore the world, both near and far. His zest for travel was something he looked forward to sharing with his wife on the many trips they had planned for the future.
Shehan had an immense love for his family, and his presence will forever be etched in our hearts. He is survived by his loving wife Nilendri and grieving parents Neelamani and Bennet. He also leaves behind his devoted sister Rochelle, brother in law Geoff and nephews Shane and Graham. Last but not least, his cherished dog Juno who provided so much love, joy and comfort.
