Obituary of Santwona Behera

Santwona, you meant different things to different people. The prodigal daughter that swelled her parents chests with pride, the doting sister who would insist on picking each one of her brother's battles, the gracious competitor who showed that winning did not always have to come at the cost of seeing your friends lose, a protective mother who picked out the best counselor she could when she was too tired to take care of her own needs, a gracious patient who put her life completely into her doctor's hands not once questioning her instincts and finally a carefree spouse whose love was unconditional and pursuit of life was filled with a childlike exuberance.
And yet all these incarnations had a certain continuity - grace, compassion, commitment and that infectious smile which touched lives and won hearts.
'2 months', they said. You danced with the dreaded C for almost 7 years with grace and were a shining glimmer of hope for many as we watched in wonderment.
All we ask, one more time, my love. Lets roll back the clock 24 years and go back to where it all started.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Santwona Behera on February 17th 2017 with her family by her side.
Funeral services will be held on February 26th, 2017 from 9:00am until 11:30am at Spangler Mortuaries, 174 N Sunnyvale Ave. Sunnyvale, CA. We plan to offer eulogies between 9:30 and 10:30 am.
