Obituary

Rosemarie Fritschi Branger passed away peacefully at home in Los Altos on February 20, 2025, at the age of 92, after a long and happy life.

Rosemarie was born the youngest of three children to Clara and Otto Fritschi on May 6, 1932, in the small town of Eglisau, Switzerland. She grew up along the Rhine and worked in Zurich in her 20s, where she met and married Moritz Branger in 1957. Always up for an adventure, the two of them packed their bags and moved from Switzerland to America, landing in Los Angeles in 1962.

After the birth of their first child, Christina, in 1964, the family settled in the Bay Area in 1969, where daughter Annette was born in 1970, and the family has lived ever since. Her life in California centered on raising her daughters, supporting her family, and enriching her community. She worked as a teacher's aide in German at Palo Alto High School and was an active member of numerous clubs and organizations, including a long-standing book group and the Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.).

Rosemarie loved traveling, reading, hiking and gardening. She brought to everything she did an open heart, a sharp mind, and a wry wit. She will be remembered for her grace, her generosity of spirit, and her deep devotion to family and friends.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Moritz; her daughters Christina (Andres) Claure and Annette (Jim Koblos) Branger; and her grandson, Alexander Claure. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Irma Wyss (née Fritschi) and Thomas Fritschi.

In a life that prioritized family, friendship, and new experiences, Rosemarie is deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
