It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Teddy Lopes at her home Saturday evening on August 3, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.

She was born in San Mateo, California, and spent her childhood in the Bay Area before meeting her future husband & love of her life, Alfred Lopes. Teddy and Al met at a party in San Jose and a year later they were married in January of 1963. They made their home in San Jose while raising their three children.

Teddy attended Fremont High School, moved on to attend Beauty School and worked as a beautician. She eventually became a stay-at-home mom while also acting as bookkeeper for Al's businesses.

She volunteered in PTAs, Oak Grove Little League (as a Team Mom, Scorekeeper, and Player Agent), and also worked with the Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers organization where she successfully orchestrated many fundraisers.

Teddy loved to bowl in co-ed and women's leagues. She also loved to golf and was a member of Santa Teresa Women's Golf Club for many years.

Together, Teddy and Al spent many happy hours with family and friends. There were countless card games, barbeques, birthday celebrations and other family gatherings as well as trips to Tahoe and Reno to gamble (she loved to play the slot machines!).

Teddy will be remembered for her vibrant personality, passion, and wit among friends and family alike. She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, grandmother and great grandmother. Her legacy will be cherished by her family. She has joined her parents and sister, Lori in Heaven. She is survived by her brothers, Steve and Frank, and her younger sister Liz; adoring husband of 61 years, Al; her children Lisa, Al Jr., and Patty; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

We want to acknowledge the family, friends, neighbors, and caregivers who touched Teddy's and our lives. Your love, friendship, care and prayers have truly touched our hearts.

Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life on August 16th, 2024, at 11:00am at Spangler Mortuary Chapel in Los Altos, 399 South San Antonio Road, Los Altos, CA 94022, followed by a burial service at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 22555 Cristo Rey Drive, Los Altos, CA 94024. Immediately following, we will host a gathering to celebrate Teddy's memory at Three Flames Restaurant, 1547 Meridian Avenue, San Jose, CA 95125.
