Obituary of Robert Leo Healy
Robert (Bob) Leo Healy passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 10, 2012, in San Martin, CA. He was 83 years old and will always be remembered by his humor and warm smile. Born in San Francisco, Bob was the youngest son of William and Mae Healy. He was a resident of San Francisco for 24 years, South San Francisco for 22 years , Santa Clara for 32 years and San Martin for 5 years. He served in the Army on the battlefields of Korea. Bob retired from Pacific Bell in 1984 after 37 years of employment and enjoyed many years of retirement. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Jean Theresa Tainter Healy. He was also preceded in death by his son Kenneth in 2004 and Donald on January 1, 2012. He is survived by his daughter Nancy Healy of San Martin, CA, and son Richard (Claudia) Healy of Kirchstetten, Austria. Bob was the loving grandfather to Erin & Althea of Tucson, Arizona and Ben and Carina of Kirchstetten, Austria and his great-grandchild Eli of Tucson, Arizona. Bob is also survived by his sister, Ardele Townsend of Los Altos, brother-in-law to Ann & Joe Lucia of San Jose and brother-in-law to Owen and Terry Tainter of Cupertino. He was preceded in death by his 2 brothers, Bill and Roy Healy. Bob enjoyed having a large family and was a loving Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Bob was a member of the Santa Clara Valley Model T Ford Club of America, Timers Trailer Club, loved meeting a group of co-workers from Pacific Bell every Friday for coffee, and met once every 3 months with the "Old Geezers" from Balboa High School (San Francisco). Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2012 at Spangler Mortuary, 174 North Sunnyvale Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086. Funeral will be held at Queen of Apostles Church, 4911 Moorpark Avenue, Santa Clara, CA, at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, February 21, 2012. Burial to follow at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln Avenue, San Jose, CA.
