Pete Ciardella, 87, died Saturday. An 87-year resident of Menlo Park and Mountain View, he owned Bay Area Trucking Services. He graduated from Menlo-Atherton High School and served in the US Army. He was an active member in the Italian American Social Club of Menlo Park, the Palo Alto Elks Club, The Fraternal Order of Eagles, Mt. View chapter, and an avid golfer at Palo Alto Hills Golf & Country Club.

He is survived by his wife, Joan, nephews Larry (Chris), Jim, Rick (Cynthia), David (Jamie), Chris (Debbie), Ron (Lisa), and Toni (Lisa), nieces Cathi (Kelly), and Michelle (Jimmy) and sister-in-laws Helen Ciardella, Sandy Dannemiller, and Millie Felber.

A vigil will be held at Spangler Mortuary, 399 South San Antonio Road, Los Altos on Monday, July 19th at 7:00 pm. A funeral mass will take place at Saint Williams Catholic Church, 611 South El Monte Avenue, Los Altos on Tuesday, July 20th at 10:30 am, and a graveside service will follow mass at Alta Mesa Memorial Park, 695 Arastradero Road, Palo Alto, at 12:00 pm.
