Obituary of Mildred Mathilda Citraro
Mildred "Tillie" Citraro, age 83, a resident of Sunnyvale, CA for 73 years, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2016 in Mountain View, CA.
Tillie was born in Mabscott, W. Virginia to Nicolas Segador and Encarnacion Herrera Segador, who predeceased her in death, as did her two sisters, Placeres Segador and Mary Segador and her husband Paul V. Citraro, whom she had married in 1956.
Tillie is survived by her two sons Paul N. Citraro and Neil S. Citraro and their families of Sunnyvale, her sister Anita Beaton and her family of Minnesota and many cousins.
Tillie was active in the Spanish Heritage Society of Santa Clara. She loved her Spanish culture, its history, food, and music especially Julio Iglesias. She enjoyed traveling to Spain, Hawaii, Las Vegas, San Francisco and Monterey.
Tillie moved to California in 1940, graduated from Santa Clara High School in 1950 and from Heald Business School with an executive secretary degree in 1953.
Tillie worked at IBM as an Executive secretary for 8 years from 1953 and as a Realtor for 10 years from 1976. She stayed home to raise her two sons and as a rental property owner, provided housing for many Sunnyvale residents for over 40 years. Tillie's favorite expression was "Que sera sera".
Tillie's services will be held at Spangler Mortuary, 174 N. Sunnyvale Ave., Sunnyvale on Monday, July 18, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
