Obituary of Michael Scott Brugge

A loving husband, son, brother, father, grandpa, friend, and colleague, passed away with his family present. Mike was born in San Francisco to Anna and Edward Brugge. He lived in San Carlos; Belleview, Washington; Fullerton, and Menlo Park. He graduated from Menlo Atherton High School in 1967. He met Carol (Hoag), his wife, in 1967 at the YMCA, where she was teaching a lifesaving class which he needed for his scuba certificate. They married on July 28, 1973. He worked for T-M Mfg. Co., a family owned machine shop. He was the NTMA (National Tooling and Machining Association) President for the SF Bay Area Chapter in 1993. He was also employed by OSH in Mountain View, and most recently worked for Haig Precision in Campbell. As a child he enjoyed the outdoors and loved being a Boy Scout. He attended the National Jamboree in 1964. He completed his scouting career with the rank of Star Scout. He also loved skiing and camping with his cousins. His interests included watching his favorite football team the 49ers, Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada mountains, pancakes, scuba diving, reading Tom Clancy and Louis L'Amour books, watching old TV westerns, and camping with the scouts. He loved traveling with his family and enjoyed, Hawaii, Washington DC, Williamsburg, Cancun, Nashville, Orlando, many trips to Disneyland, and a 3 generation cruise to Alaska. Mike was proceeded in death by his younger sister, Lynda Ann Brugge. Mike touched the lives of many people with his big heart, smile, and sense of humor. Mike will be forever remembered by his wife of 41 years, Carol (Hoag); parents, Anna and Edward Brugge; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and BJ Correia; son and his girlfriend, Edward Brugge II and Hailey Li Kong; grandsons Gavin and Jayson Correia; dog, Bear, as well as many relatives and dear friends. Services will be held at Crosswalk Community Church - 445 S. Mary Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086 on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 11:30am with a luncheon to follow.
