Maureen Kathryn La Barber, joined her Lord and Savior on January 6, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Buffalo, NY, the second child of Mary (Coyne) and Alfred Munzert. She grew up with her sister Patricia and brother Richard. Maureen graduated from Kensington High School in 1955 and went on to earn her Nursing degree R.N. from EJ Meyer Memorial Hospital in 1958. This was the same year, she married her beloved husband of 51 years, Jerauld J. La Barber, M.D. Together they had six children; Holly, Mark, Gary, Kim, Lynn and Glen.

Maureen was the treasured matriarch of her family. She was altruistic with a beautiful soul whose devotion to the well-being of her family was unparalleled. Jerry and Maureen loved to travel and had the pleasure of seeing the world together. She was known by her family and friends for her humor and compassion.

Maureen was preceded in death by her husband Jerauld, son Gary and grandson, Chase. Maureen is survived by five children; Holly La Barber, Mark La Barber (Jessica), Kim Smith (Ronald), Lynn Speckert (Steven) and Glen La Barber. She is survived by 11 grandchildren; Ashley Holvick, Hunter, Brent and Marcus La Barber, Linsey, Abigael, and Nicolina Smith, Sophia and Meghan Speckert and Grant and Kate La Barber.

A memorial mass will be held on January 20, 2018 at Church of Resurrection at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Tiny Paws Pug Rescue/Maureen La Barber Memorial Fund at P.O. Box 281 Aptos, CA 95001.
