Obituary of Matthew Frank Maki
Matthew Frank Maki passed away on August 29, 2016 in Los Altos, CA. He was 58 years old.
Matt Maki was born on October 20,1958 in San Francisco, CA to his parents, Charles Raymond and Tona Maki. He graduated from San Jose State University with a Master's degree in Business Administration in 1987.
Matt spent his early years in Sunnyvale where he attended Fremont High School. He often spoke of his time playing baseball for the Palo Alto Oaks where he created so many lifelong relationships. Later, he went on to fulfil his dream of playing professional baseball for the Cleveland Indians. After his time playing baseball, Matt took on a successful career in software sales, starting with Hewlett Packard and most recently with Gemalto. He married Tracy Maki in 1987. Matt and Tracy moved to Los Altos, CA in 2002 to raise their two beautiful children, Jennifer and Christopher.
Matt enjoyed coaching little league baseball, barbequing on Sunday afternoons by the pool, spending all his free time with his family and friends, and sharing his incredible knowledge of history to those that would listen. Above all, Matt loved and adored his family more than anything else and he will be greatly missed.
Matt Maki is survived by his wife Tracy Maki of Los Altos; his daughter, Jennifer Maki; his son, Christopher Maki; his father, Charles Raymond Maki, his sister, Jill Maki; his brother Mark Maki; and his sister Julie Maki. He is preceded in death by his mother, Tona Maki.
Matt Maki will be remembered in a "Celebration of Life" ceremony on Sunday September 4th, 2016 at 1pm at their home.
