Mary Maguerite Bendlin Seppeler, daughter of Arnold and Hazel Bendlin, and wife of Wayne Clarence Seppeler of 62 years, entered eternal life with our Lord on April 11, 2023, surrounded by her family, after a brief illness. Mary was born on June 22, 1931 in Toledo, Ohio. Mary graduated from University of Toledo, where she met Wayne in the Lutheran Student Association. Mary pursued a teaching career, where she taught in El Paso, Texas while Wayne was in the Army. This was short-lived and they moved to California. The first of four sons arrived in 1957. Mary and Wayne had four sons for which she was so proud of: Eric, Matthew, Christopher, and David, one granddaughter, Sienna, and two daughter in laws, Gilda and Ann. Mary was a devoted wife and mother who focused on the family above all else. Mary was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Los Altos for over 60 years. She truly enjoyed singing praises to God in the church choir. The church was a home for Mary and Wayne, where they met many of their best long-life friends. Mary volunteered through the El Camino Hospital Auxiliary for over 25 years, working and ultimately managing the gift shop. Mary spent much of her free time pursuing various crafting hobbies, which was one of her true joys. Mary leaves a legacy of love to all who knew her. People who knew her would describe her as selfless and caring for others. She always greeted all with a warm contagious smile. She will be greatly missed, but the world was blessed to have her. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service Saturday May 6, at 11 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1715 Grant Road, Los Altos, with a reception to follow at the church.
