Obituary of Mary Frances Guilbert Mariani Bigler
Mary Frances passed peacefully from a short illness. She now joins her first husband, Paul Andrew Mariani Jr., who predeceased her in 1979 and leaves behind her husband Dr. A. Rex Bigler to whom she was married for 26 years. Loving Mother of Linda, Paul III (deceased), Fr. John, David (Arlene), Mark (Melody), Richard (Jeanne) Mariani and Marialisa (John) Mariani Delmare. Sister of Lois Graves. Step mother to Michael (Dianne), John (Deborah), and Robert (Punita) Bigler. Mary Frances was born in Manhattan, Kansas to Harold and Frances Steele Guilbert and moved to David, California when her father was appointed as Dean of Animal Husbandry. She was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority at UC Berkeley, a member of the Young Ladies Institute, an active organizer and leader of the Santa Clara Valley march of Dimes and Community Chest and a Dame of Malta. She will be remembered for her ever present smile, contagious optimism, mischievous pixiness, quick wit, loving spirit and unquestioning faith. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Catholic Charities or to your favorite charity in her memory. Funeral Services will be at St. Nicholas Church, 472 Lincoln Ave., Los Altos 9402 on June 29, 2012 at 10:00am. The Vigil Service begins at 6:00pm, Rosary at 7:00, Thursday, June 28 at Spangler Mortuary, 399 S. San Antonio Rd., Los Altos.
