Mary Elizabeth Elliott passed away peacefully in her sleep at 4:47 AM, August 1, 2026, in San Francisco, California. She was 77 and will be deeply missed.

Mary was born April 27, 1949, to Howard William Elliott and Marcella Wittwer Elliott, in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. She graduated from Rolling Hills High School in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, in the inaugural class. She lived and worked in the Los Angeles area for many years, then was a longtime resident of Laguna Niguel, California. Mary loved the beach!

Mary was beloved as a sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Mary embraced life with an exuberance to feel it all. She was a free spirit with a wealth of knowledge, humor and sound advice to all that loved her. She loved reading and doing research on anything that she had questions about. She enjoyed many discussions about the purpose of life, and she dearly loved her family.

Mary is survived by her sister, Kay Hale of Los Altos, California; her sister, Ruth Ann Dragoo of Mariposa, California; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at UCSF Hospital for their compassionate care of Mary in her final months.
