Obituary of Marjorie Ann Arbon

BOLD, INTELLIGENT, STRONG, PASSIONATE, CARING and a GOOD FRIEND, these are the words Margie's many friend have used to describe her in their heart felt responses to the news of her passing. Her positive attitude and strength of will were an inspiration to her family, friends and caregivers as she engaged in her fight against cancer. She won that fight. Despite a very dire diagnosis, she maintained her sense of humor, dignity and independence for more than a year. Those who knew Margie were blessed with the opportunity to interact with a truly unique and talented woman. Margie studied aeronautical engineering, architecture and construction management. While in college she worked as a veterinary technician because she had a profound love of animals. As a construction manager, Margie guided the construction of a water treatment plant in Seagoville,Texas, a runway addition to the international airport in Nashville, Tennessee and several competitive venues for the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. She then switched her focus to information technology and internet security. She began as a volunteer working from her home in Georgia for a non-profit organization established by two internet pioneers to try to stem the tide of unwanted emails from clogging servers and personal computers. Through her dedication and business acumen she rose to occupy a director's position and was instrumental in converting the small, debt- ridden operation into a profitable subscription based company that was sold to Trend Micro. Her computer skills and knowledge of the internet was self-taught and impressed even those who were truly "inventors" of the world wide web. While Margie loved her work, her true passion was for animals and her own dogs in particular. Margie approached dog ownership and training with the same force of will she brought to her business life. What began with an interest in learning about Schutzhund training for her pound puppy, a Doberman mix named "Loki", grew into her love of and dedication to Beaucerons. She served as president of the American Beauceron Club and was the current chair of the ABC's Beauceron rescue group. A very special personal goal was met on August 2, 2015, when "Opus," the dog she and her close friend Susan Tait raised, obtained his "Grand Champion" title at the AKC dog show held in Dixon, Ca. Margie was a person who succeeded simply because she could not accept the idea that anything was beyond her reach. Also a talented cook and baker, if Margie wanted to do something, it was done . . .and done very well. Her knowledge, talents and compassion were shared with anyone who approached her or whom she felt she could help. Margie was a beloved sister and friend. She will be laid to rest with her mother and father, Ed and Muriel Arbon, at the Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. Final arrangements for her memorial service are still in the planning stages but will soon be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to American Beauceron Club's rescue group. Donations can be made out to American Beauceron Club with a notation the donation is being made to "Rescue" in memory of Margie Arbon. Donations can be mailed to Carol Cossey at 25638 Hwy 70, Bonanza, OR 97623 or can be made thru paypal to treasurer@beauce.org for Rescue in memory of Margie Arbon.
