Margaret Mary Reilly Holstine – October 6, 1918 – May 12, 2018

Margaret Mary Reilly Holstine was born on October 8, 1918 in San Francisco to Irish immigrant parents James and Margaret Reilly. She grew up in Glen Park section of San Francisco with her brother George and attended Balboa High School. She met her husband Clayton while he was serving in the Army just prior to World War II at a dance in Union Square. In June of 1942 they were married at St John's Catholic Church in San Francisco.

After the war they started a family with daughters Donna born in 1946 and Sharon born in 1948. In 1951 they moved to Los Altos, where their son Clay was born in 1954. In the early 1960's she and her husband started a business based in Mt View which they successfully ran for over 25 years. She lived in Los Altos for 62 years. For the past 5 years she has lived at Villa Sienna in Mt. View.

In addition to her 3 children Margaret had a daughter in-law Cristina (Clay's wife) and 8 grandchildren, Victoria, Michelle, Jimmy, Katy, Tony and Camila, and Jeff and Tim. She also had 5 great grandchildren, Sara, Kyle, Coen, Reilly and Teagan. Margaret was truly the Matriarch of her family. She loved gatherings of friends and family often by her pool with backyard BBQ's. She loved to travel and see the world as well as spend time at the beach or in Tahoe. She was always on the run and taught us all to savor life. She lived life to the fullest and profoundly impacted in her family with her indomitable spirit.

She died peacefully and is preceded in death by her husband Clayton and daughter Sharon.

Rosary will be Friday at 2 Pm on May 18th at Spangler's, Los Altos, 399 San Antonio Rd and Funeral Mass and reception beginning at 9:30 a.m Saturday May 19th at Villa Siena, 1885 Miramonte Ave, Mt View.
