Obituary

Margaret "Peggy" Kenny Herte drove to Palo Alto from her native New York in 1961 with her husband Lawrence and the first of her four wonderful children. She demonstrated her loving motto of "Live and Help Live" to her children, Eight Grandchildren and Ten Great Grandchildren. She kept the Faith at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish where she taught Christian Doctrine for five years. Margaret loved to walk, ran 8 Bay to Breakers Races, was a trophy winner in several 10K races in her successfully battle with insulin Diabetes for sixty years (Gold Medal award). She loved her travels to Ireland, London, Paris, Rome, and Berlin and brought back many recipes to share with her beloved relatives back East. She enjoyed computer classes at Foothill College and her former coworkers at Ford Aerospace/Loral remember her enthusiastic contributions. Margaret was a member of The Thomas Merton Center, Little House, Mid-town Residents, and Avenidas where she learned to play the ukulele. Her service as a Volunteer at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation was most rewarding. Margaret is survived by her loving husband Lawrence, and four children Barbara, Thomas, Diane and Susan. A Celebration of her life will take place in February at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Palo Alto.
