The beautiful spirit of Marcella Soledad Barrientes of San Jose, California at the age of 64, left her physical body on Monday July 1st, 2019 at home.



Marcella was born October 17th, 1954 to Juan and Eleanor Barrientes (née Miranda) who preceded her in death.



If the foundation of Marcella's life journey was one of fearless self determination and actualization, then the fuel for her life journey was her boundless passion for creative expression through art, culture, history, music and film. These passions were enthusiastically shared with all who knew her, and all who knew her were enriched by her sharing.



Marcella took great joy and fulfillment by generously and thoughtfully expressing love to her close family and friends. Many would say this expression was extravagant! Never less than 110% real, Marcella was fiercely protective of those she loved. Of those loved ones, the core of her abundant heart was her unconditional love for her nieces and nephews, and her four godchildren; Mia, Marcos and Niki Chagoya, and Zach Damian Baluyot.



An open house style gathering to remember the life and beautiful spirit of Marcella will occur on Saturday July 13th from 1pm to 4pm at Spangler Funeral Home - 174 N Sunnyvale Ave Sunnyvale, CA 94086. Sharing of stories and memories by any family and friends is encouraged and will begin at 2pm. ALL ARE WELCOME.
