Obituary of Lynn Murphy

Lynn (Terry) Murphy, of Sunnyvale, California, passed away peacefully at home on March 16, 2016 at the age of 60. Born on April 1, 1955 in San Francisco, California to Halvert and Katherine Terry, Lynn was married to the Walter Murphy III until his death in 2007. Lynn is survived by a son, Donald Murphy, by three siblings, Lorene (Greg) Randich, Lisa Arbanasin and Daniel Terry, and by three nephews, Robert Randich, David Randich and Mark Arbanasin. She is predeceased by her parents, and by her brother-in-law, Robert Arbanasin. As a young child, Lynn moved with her family to San Mateo, California where she grew up. She graduated from San Mateo High School in 1973 and married Walter in 1979. Outside of two years spent in Houston, Lynn resided primarily in Santa Clara county, where she and Walter raised their son. Lynn worked most of her adult life, retiring as a purchasing agent from Western Allied Mechanical in 2013. Lynn loved the ocean, and one of her favorite things to do was to drive along the California coast. She and Walter enjoyed traveling and they took several cruises to the Caribbean and Alaska. She also enjoyed spending time with her extended family. Sharing large family holiday meals were among her greatest joys. A celebration of Lynn's life will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Spangler's Mortuary, 799 Castro St., Mountain View, California. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lynn's memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
