Linder Lewis Dermon was born in 1950 and passed away at her home in Palo Alto, California, on August 6th, 2021, at age 71, from glioblastoma, about 18 months after her initial diagnosis.

Linder was born in Memphis, Tennessee to Hubert and Audrey Lewis. She grew up in Memphis with her brothers Andy and John. After attending White Station High School, she graduated from Indiana University. Linder moved to California in 1973, received a master's degree from San Francisco State Universityand eventually settled in Palo Alto to pursue a career and raise a family.

Linder married John in 1975. Linder was a teacher at both Ohlone Elementary and Gunn High School in Palo Alto. Linder is survived by her family: husband John of 45 years, who knew Linder since her birth; her daughter Emily and her husband Lewis, parents to Linder's granddaughters Liliana and Luna; her son Daniel and his wife Caroline, parents to Linder's grandson Lincoln.
