Obituary of Linda Ann Hanson
Linda Ann (Kalcic) Hanson, 52, of San Jose, California, passed away at home on May 3, 2016 after a difficult struggle with pancreatic cancer.
Linda was born March 3, 1964, in Mountain View, California, the daughter of Leo E. and Carole M. Kalcic, and was the oldest of 3 siblings. She attended St. Cyprian Elementary School, St. Francis High School (1982), and Santa Clara University (1986). After graduating, Linda worked in the field of Marketing at various technology companies, including Apple, Sky Pilot, Echelon, and Citrix. On September 15, 2007, Linda married Brad Hanson, and they welcomed their daughter, Nicole, into their family on August 24, 2010.
Linda had fond memories of her childhood summers cutting some of the last apricots grown in Santa Clara County. She grew up trying numerous hobbies, including needlepoint, guitar, and gymnastics, but she found her true passion in cooking. She enjoyed hunting down recipes and hosting wine tasting and dinner parties where she gladly and easily prepared the whole meal. She was happiest spending time with her family making wine, enjoying Sunday dinners, camping, and making the family's traditional holiday Kiflin cookies.
She is survived by her husband, Brad Hanson; daughter, Nicole Hanson; parents, Leo and Carole Kalcic; and brothers and sisters-in-law (and their children), Frank and Cathleen Kalcic (David and Brian) and Daniel and Brenda Kalcic (Dean and Kate).
A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, 4911 Moorpark Avenue, San Jose, California, with a reception immediately following.
