Lawrence Edward Trotter II, better known as “Larry,” passed away on May 19, 2026, at the age of 51 due to complications from seizures. Born on December 7, 1974, Larry was born and raised in Mountain View, a place he was incredibly proud to call home throughout his entire life.

Larry is survived by his parents, Lawrence Trotter and Diane Trotter; his sister, Lorann Trotter; and his loyal dog, Macy, who was truly his best friend.

For 17 years, Larry worked at Costco Wholesale, where he made many friendships and left a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike.

Larry loved fishing and could spend hours enjoying the peace and quiet near the water. He was also a devoted Bay Area sports fan who proudly rooted for the San Francisco Giants, San Francisco 49ers, and Golden State Warriors. Whether celebrating a championship season or talking about next year’s chances, Larry always stayed loyal to his teams.

Music was also a huge part of Larry’s life. He especially loved metal music and was a longtime fan of Slipknot, whose music he enjoyed blasting whenever he got the chance. Larry also loved going to concerts at Shoreline Amphitheater, where he made many great memories seeing live music with friends and family.

Being from Mountain View was something Larry carried with pride. He loved his hometown, the people in it, and the memories he made there over the years. Larry will be remembered for his easygoing personality, his sense of humor, and the good times shared with the people who knew and loved him. He had a way of making everyday moments memorable, and his presence will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at 10 AM at Spangler Mortuary located at 799 Castro Street, Mountain View, CA, followed by a graveside service at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery in Santa Clara. A Celebration of Life will follow where family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate Larry’s life.
