Juanita Guevara born in Los Angeles, California, and with her family was forced to leave the United States in 1933, as a result of the Forced Repatriation policy at the time.

While in Mexico she met José Guevara to whom she was married for 70 years until his death in 2011. Juanita had 2 children in Mexico, Luis and Eva. She moved back to the United States in1946 reuniting her family and had 3 more children, Alfonso, Jorge and Antonio.

During her life Juanita was involved with St. Martins Catholic Church in Sunnyvale, as an active member of the Guadalupana Society. For many years she and her husband volunteered in preparing for the homeless and served in various other capacities in the St. Martin's Parish community. Juanita loved to travel with her husband to Mexico, traveled to Hawaii, Las Vegas and other cities through the the American Southwest. Juanita loved gardening, cooking for family and friends, and being with many friends she met during the years.

Juanita had 5 children: Luis (deceased), Antonio (deceased), Eva Contreras (widow of Larry Contreras) Alfonso (wife Juana) and Jorge (wife Erika); 9 grandchildren: John, Lou Anthony (deceased), Poncho, Adam, Alejandra, Veronica, Nathaniel, Tristan, Dominique, Thomas (deceased) and Peter; 5 great grand children: Jovan, Kiana, Xiomara, Xóchitl and Jamie.
