Obituary of Joseph Jordan Mossner

Joseph Jordan Mossner was born on December 8, 1934 in New York City. He entered into rest on Thursday, April 4, 2013 in Mountain View. Joseph raised his family in Mountain View and leaves behind his three adult children Joann Martinez, Jerylann Mateo (Chris) & Jeffrey Mossner (Elaine); his step-daughter Wendy Darbouze (Pierre) and his grandchildren Justin, Bryan, Ashley, Lynsey, Nathan, Sarah, Sophie, Maya & Robert. He is preceded in death by his wife Dixie Warner (2004), mother of his children Anna Kos (2006), his oldest son Joseph Mossner (1994) and his grandson Kevin Martinez (1995). Joseph was the youngest of 5 children, born to Arthur & Margaret Mossner. He grew up in Manhattan, New York where he married and started his family. He worked full time to support his young family and attended night school to complete his degree, it took him 7 years and he was always very proud of this great accomplishment. He was working for a company, EAI, in New Jersey and transferred to their Palo Alto, California division in 1965. Then in 1967 he started his own accounting practice in Los Altos where he served his clients for over 40 years, retiring & selling his business in 2011. He has lived in the area for 48 years and most recently in Sunnyvale, staying close to his family. He loved visiting Monterey, Lake Tahoe and Kauai. He was not able to travel over the last few years but always enjoyed talking about the many trips he took with family & friends. He was interviewed by his grandchildren for a school project recently and was quoted saying: "I am thankful for waking up every morning. I am also thankful for my family." We are thankful for the time we had with him and know we will see him again one day. We love you Dad! Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 13 at Spangler Mortuary, 174 N. Sunnyvale Ave., Sunnyvale at 12:30pm. Celebration of Life reception will be held immediately following the service at Plaza Del Rey Clubhouse, 1225 Vienna Drive, Sunnyvale.
