Jean Newton Fraguglia nee Hanna passed away at home on Wednesday, September 5, 2018. She was 67 years old.

Born on January 13, 1951, Jean was raised in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was the first child of Margaret and Norman Hanna and older sister to John Hanna.

A devoted mother to Ryan and Chad, she was considered a second mom to many and her warm and inviting personality endeared her to friends, neighbors and even casual passersby wherever she went.

She attended Lincoln Senior High School, University of South Dakota and went on to receive an English degree from San Jose State University. Jean developed the collateral and handled the initial public relations for the international Rotary AIDS Project and the Peabody award-winning film "The Los Altos Story."

An entrepreneur who founded her own public relations company, JNPR, in 1984, she was also a professional writer and received numerous bylines for published articles and photos.She became a Realtor in 2007, and worked at the Forum in Cupertino until her retirement.

Jean loved walking in the Los Altos Hills. She played tennis and enjoyed biking and running. Later she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, who brought her much joy and fulfillment.

She is survived by her sons Ryan (Jackie) Newton, Chad (Grace) Newton, husband Steve Fraguglia, step-daughter Lisa Allen (Jimmy) , granddaughter Lenora and step grandchildren Brandon and Katie. Jean will be remembered by numerous extended family in California, Oregon, South Dakota and Italy as well as dear friends and community partners and colleagues.

Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Spangler Mortuary, 399 S San Antonio Rd., Los Altos. The reception to follow is at Jean's house, 1236 Wasatch Dr Mountain View, CA 94040 at12:30. Food and beverage will be provided
