Isabel (Garcia)
Hensley
September 6, 2017
Isabel (Garcia) Hensley passed away on Wednesday September 6th at 9:10 AMat Plumb TreeCare Centerin San Jose, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ristobal and Delores, daughter Janet and son Allen. She is survived by daughter-in-law Margaret Hensley of Marietta, GA, grand daughters Janet Stephens of Acworth, GA, Susan Bjerkeof Canton, GA and Dr. David Hensley of Pace, FL and six great grandchildren.
Issy graduated from Sequola High School in Redwood City and was a member of the Speech and Debate teams. She was a key member of the administrative staff of Wanderer Electric in Sunnyvale for thirty-five years prior to her retirement. She was a long time member of Sunnyvale's QUOTA International andPast President of the Sunnyvale Business and Professional Women's Club, along with several other organizations. She was very active in St. Martin Church and was a lector and reader for many years and her donation of over 10,000 hours as a volunteer at El Camino Hospital is of significant note.
Issywas a multitalented and compassionate women of exemplary integrity and extraordinary accomplishments, who never lost sight and perspective of the attributes and vagaries of her fellow man. She very quietly and without fanfare and publicity, generously gave of herself to many causes and charities, as well as giving muchunobtrusive concern, care and consideration to many individuals.
She willbe sorely missed by the Malatesta family, the Shafizadeh family, Mil Matzinger, Sister Maria Jesus Vilar of Madrid Spain and Susan McGowan.
In summing up her life, she always shared thoughts meaningful to her: "What we are is God's gift to us; what we make of ourselves our gift to God. From time to time it behooves each of us to reflect on choices we have made. Choices make the person, they shape personality, define character and they make up, one's life."
Issyshall be exceedingly missedby all she touched in her long and very fruitful life; along with her wry sense of humor and quasi curmudgeon like persona. Shewill be oft remembered and never be forgotten. Many thanks go to the staff at Plumb Tree Care Center and Vitas Health Care Hospice Services for their patient and professional care.
