Obituary of Isabel F. Drinkwater

Isabel was born on May 23, 1919, and raised in the Mayfield section of Palo Alto. She passed away after a brief illness on October 20, 2011 at Lytton Gardens in Palo Alto at the age of 92. She was a life-long resident of the mid-peninsula area. She was born to Joseph and Pauline Connolly at Stanford Hospital. Her grandparents were Don Jesus and Julia Ramos, early Palo Alto settlers. She was active in the community, volunteered for the local Alzheimer's chapter and was blessed with many wonderful life-long friends. Isabel was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Henry Drinkwater. She is survived by her children: Joseph Drinkwater (Barbara) of Cupertino, Robert Drinkwater (Patty) of Roseville, and Julie Stark of Virginia. She will be missed by her children, 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, two nephews and a great niece. Friends are welcome to attend visitation on Wednesday, October 26, 2011, 6:30 p.m. at Spangler Mortuary, 399 San Antonio Road, Los Altos, CA. A Catholic funeral mass will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2011, 10 a.m. at Saint William Catholic Church,611 S. El Monte, Los Altos Burial to follow at Alta Mesa Cemetery, 695 Arastradero Rd., Palo Alto, CA.
