On August 10, 1974, she married Rick Goodson and on December 18, 1978 she welcomed her only daughter, Deja Jeanine Goodson who was a very important person in her life.
Irene loved to bake, everyone knew her for her tasty cakes! Most people loved her famous strawberry cakes. A lot of people didn't know this but, she started her own side baking business, "Goodies For Junior", named after her only grandson Jr, in which she baked cakes, cookies, and candy. She even made wedding cakes! She was a great cook and extremely crafty. She enjoyed sewing and making Halloween costumes for Deja when she was younger and then later on for her grandson Jr. She was a huge sports fanatic and loved basketball and baseball. She loved the Giants and attended Spring Training in Arizona. She was even fortunate enough to meet Matt Williams and some of the other players in the 90's. She loved the beach, traveling, and taking trips with her daughter and grandson. Disneyland was one of her favorite places. She had a very funny and sarcastic personality, she was definitely one of a kind and marched to the beat of her own drum. She will be truly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
