In Loving Memory:
Hue Van Doan passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 14, 2022 with his family by his side.
Hue was born on May 19, 1919 in Hue, Vietnam to Mrs. Nguyen Thi Vi and Mr. Doan Van Cuu. He was a seminarian at Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer in Hanoi, Vietnam. Later he met the love of his life Mrs. Yen Vui Ton Nu in Hue. He worked as a civil servant for the City of Saigon and also taught French at Lasan Taberd High School. Hue and his family immigrated to San Jose, California on March 17, 1986. In his retirement in America, he enjoyed gardening, arm wrestling, building dangerously combustible gadgets at home, devouring obscene amounts of food at the local HomeTown Buffet, and caring for his many rambunctious grandchildren.
Hue is preceded in death by his loving wife whom he shared a beautiful marriage with for sixty-two years. He is survived by his three children, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many others who look up to him as a fatherly figure. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, good humor, and limitless compassion. His memory will live on in all those who love him.
In lieu of sending flowers, please offer donations (money, slightly used clothes, baby diapers, canned goods...) to a local Catholic Charity or to any Ukrainian Humanitarian Relief Effort.
