7 Grandchildren followed: Brian, Brett, Brandon and Brittany Vecchio, James and Ryan Baumgartner and Kasey Buckley.

Another important part of their family alway included a multitude of animals.
They built a home in Portola Valley in 1965 adding horses and enjoying more than 30 very happy, busy family oriented years. They traveled throughout the world often focusing on golf.

Henry's professional life started when he was associated with Arthur Anderson in San Francisco. In 1967 Henry and 3 others founded ILC Technology, Inc.
In 1980, Henry negotiated the purchase of United Detector Technology, designers and manufacturer of optic sensors.
In 1981 he arranged for the purchase of a ceramic product line called "Cermax" from Varian Industries for $1million becoming ILC's largest revenue producer. Synonymous with medical lighting applications for endoscopic illumination, surgical headlamps and robotic surgery equipment the equipment can be found in over 90% of hospitals worldwide.
In July 1983, Henry took ILC public. He Resigned in 1985 as Chief Financial Officer but remained on the Board of Directors, returning in 1990 to becoming President and Chief Executive Officer. He was eventually instrumental in arranging purchases of Q-Arc Lighting, a premier flashlamp company, Converter Power, Inc. a designer and manufacturer of power supplies and Precision Lighting, Inc. a manufacturer of miniature lights for pagers who's major customer is Motorola.
In 1997, Henry arranged the merger of ILC with the BEC Group, Inc. and renamed Lumen Technologies, Inc.
1998, Lumen Technologies, Inc. was acquired by EG&G, Inc. and renamed PerkinElmer Optoelectronics.

He retired in 1999 and proceeded to enjoy a 3+ month "residency" in Hawaii after which they moved to Carmel to enjoy the "good life". Friends were always welcome especially Stanford classmates as Stanford football games were a high priority. He was devout Chicago Cubs fan as well as 49ers, Giants and of course Stanford.

We are sad to see this chapter end…. but the memories will forever linger.
