Obituary of Harold Eugene Zimmerman

Harold E. Zimmerman May 16, 1942 to November 27, 2011 "Zip" as he was known to friends, beloved Father, Brother, Grandfather and Great Grandfather passed at the age of 69 at Stanford Hospital surrounded by loved ones. Harold is survived by his sister Shirley Wiegers of Pontiac, Illinois, daughter Gina and son in-law Rob Garcia of Livermore, son Brian Zimmerman of San Jose, Granddaughters Nichole Fischer and Danielle Light of San Jose, Alexandria and Jacqueline Garcia of Livermore, Great Granddaughter Emma Light of San Jose and nephews Steven and Scott Wiegers. Zip grew up in Chenoa, Illinois and joined the Air Force after high school graduation. He met his wife while he was stationed in Sioux City, Iowa. In 1968, after his honorable discharge from the military they moved to Northern California. He enjoyed traveling, watching baseball and football games in his big easy chair, as well as family get togethers.
