Garry C. Wride was born on July 9, 1932 in Alameda to George and Alice Wride. He was an Eagle Scout and star of the Alameda High basketball team. Garry went on to play basketball for College of the Pacific where he then met his future bride, Nancy Kaljian. Garry transferred to Stanford University where he graduated with a degree in Economics in 1954 and later earned an MBA from Pepperdine University. Nancy and Garry married in 1955 and moved to Monterey where Garry served in the Army and played on the Army basketball team at Ford Ord. Garry went on to have a career as an executive for Philco Ford Aerospace/SSL where he worked for forty years. Garry loved traveling the world with his friends and family, and was a loyal Stanford basketball fan. He was an avid sailor, and spent many vacations at Huntington Lake, Pajaro Dunes and Sun Lakes, AZ. Garry is survived by his wife Nancy, children Michael, Karen and Wendy, daughter-in-law Christi, son-in-law Greg, and his grandchildren Megan, Justin, Halle, Anna and Lily, his sister-in-law Ban and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. David Lewis and the staff at The Grove for the loving care they provided in Garry's final years. In lieu of flowers, donations in Garry's name can be made to the Alzheimer's association at alz.org. Close friends family will be celebrating Garry's life on April 6th at 11:00am at Foothills Congregational Church in Los Altos.
