Frances Pauline Ramos, devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 26, 2022. She was 94 years old. Frances is survived by her two children Catherine Ross and Steven Ramos (Denise); six grandchildren Lauren Noon, David Ross (Nadia), Catherine Cummins (Andrew), Rachael Ross, Ryan Ramos and Michele Ramirez (Pedro); and four great-grandchildren Henry Cummins, Sierra Ross, Pedro Ramirez V, and Sofia Ross. Frances was preceded in death by her beloved son David Ramos, husband Tony Ramos, brothers Joe Castello (Gloria), Victor Castello (Marjorie) and parents John and Catherine Castello, with whom she is finally reunited.

Born June 23, 1928 at home with her twin brother, Victor Castello, in San Jose, California Frances was the lone daughter amongst boys to John and Catherine Castello. The Castello Family, the twins affectionately referred to as Bud and Sis with older brother Joseph, moved from Willow Glen to Evergreen to farm. Eventually they purchased the family's ranch in Sunnyvale where she grew up picking prunes and cutting apricots while attending school.

It was at Fremont High School in Sunnyvale where she met the love of her life, Tony. After graduating, the high school sweethearts married in 1950 and celebrated their 70 th wedding anniversary on April 29, 2020 just weeks before Tony's passing. The couple loved to go dancing, attend family dinners and trek to Lake Tahoe for their annual family summer vacation. Always the life of the party, you could find her in the kitchen with a glass of wine passing out slices of her famous pizza.

Frances' greatest love was for her family, both immediate and extended. She was most proud of her grandchildren, always asking about their interests and saving newspaper or magazine clippings touting their accomplishments. Frances was at every family function and through the years kept in touch with all of her many cousins despite increasing age and distance. She'd often say that her family were her friends. Her vivacious presence will surely be missed.

The Ramos family wishes to acknowledge and express their deep gratitude for the ongoing care provided by Tess Ruiz, Belinda Hudierez and Daisy Supnet. The kindness and compassion will be forever remembered.

A rosary is planned for 11:00am on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at St William Catholic Church (611 S El Monte Ave, Los Altos, CA) followed by a funeral mass at 11:30am. Immediately following mass will be a graveside service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery (22555 Cristo Rey Dr. Los Altos, CA).
