Devoted husband of Elaine Burkhart Cantwell. He had a life filled with music and song. Ervie E. Cantwell, 89, peacefully passed away in his home surrounded by loving family and friends.

Ervie was a loved and revered music teacher and mentor to students at schools throughout Santa Clara County. He brought music and art into the lives of thousands of students. Ervie shared his musical talents with many local bands, including The Cupertino Swing Band, The Sound Commitment and The Salvation Army band.

He was part of the Greatest Generation who honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Ervie was the best friend and neighbor anyone could possibly hope for, always ready with a helping hand.
