Obituary of Emmy Kowalik
Emmy Kowalik passed away Friday, March 23, 2012 in Mountain View, CA. She was born November 27, 1918 in Kassel, Germany and was Predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Jan Kowalik (Stawiczek 1910-2001), a Stanford University Professor and well know Polish Poet and writer, her mother, Anna Margarethe and father, Franz Richard Mock, brothers and sister, Franz, Karl-Heinz andIrma. She is survived by eight nieces and nephews, Michael, Angelika, Hans-Alfred, Gabrielle, Winfried, Thomas, Susanne and Andreas, all of Germany. Emmy worked for the Bank of America for more than 30 years and was one of the first women Bank of America operations officers before retiring. A Chapel blessing will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 4:00 PM at the Los Altos Chapel of Spangler Mortuaries, 399 So. San Antonio Road, Los Altos. She will be buried in Schlechtern, Germany with her beloved husband, Jan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Biblioteka Towarzystwo Christowe, Poznan, Poland for the Jan Kowalik Collection.
