Elizabeth Lee
Trevelyan
March 24, 1929 – June 6, 2022
It is with great sadness that the Trevelyan family announces the passing of Elizabeth Lee
Trevelyan (Lee), 93, longtime resident of Santa Rosa and, more recently Castro Valley, California, where she lived with her son Michael and beloved daughter-in-law Sylvie Privat.
Born in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, she was a proud graduate of the Royal Victoria Hospital School of Nursing (Royal Vic), located in Montréal, Canada, and earned a post graduate nursing degree from Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. During her time in Montréal, Lee met her lifetime partner, Benjamin John Trevelyan, and the father of her four children, Michael, David, Ian and Alexandra. Lee was a past president, parliamentarian and enthusiastic member of the Santa Rosa Quilt Guild, where she was awarded Honorary Life Membership; loved her time with the Men's Garden Club of Santa Rosa, where she contributed over the years to the clubs many award-winning flower displays at annual Sonoma County Fairgrounds fairs; and, for well into her eighties, was active in the ladies guild of the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation of Santa Rosa. Lee loved to travel and was thrilled to return to Montréal just weeks before her death to be with her family and friends to celebrate her granddaughter's wedding. Lee is survived by three of her children, Michael, Ian and Alexandra; grandchildren Alexander, Alyssa and Gigi; her daughters-and son-in-law Sylvie Privat, Yvonne Trevelyan and Gary Palatnick, as well as her cousin Roger, who was a dear friend and sharer of many memories and laughs. Lee will be greatly missed by all.
