Obituary of Elizabeth Castle Nelson

Betty died November 18, 2012, five days before her 88th birthday. Betty was born in San Francisco on November 23, 1924 to Albert L. Castle and Margaret Casey Castle. Betty lived in Mountain View for most of her life. She attended Mountain View High School and worked at Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, where Betty met Warren "Swede" Nelson. They were married almost 60 years before he preceded her in death. Betty was also preceded in death by infant son, Alan Thor Nelson, brothers James and Thomas Castle and sister Margaret Wilson. She is survived by four children, Susan Larson (Rick), Linda Ribary (Jim), Craig Nelson (Linda), Peggy Byrd (Ken) and eight grandchildren. Betty and Swede were members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Los Altos, until they moved to Colorado Springs in 2004.
