Obituary of Elizabeth Louise Keegan
Keegan, Elizabeth (Betty) Louise: died peacefully on August 7, 2013. Her gentle and kind spirit shined through until the end and serves as inspiration to her family and all who knew her. Betty was born in her beloved city of San Francisco on December 9, 1924. She attended Jefferson Grammar School and Lowell High School. Upon graduation, Betty went to work for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company where she was a bookkeeper for the Health and Welfare Department. She met her husband, Dick Keegan, at a church social of the Basilican Club at St. Anne of the Sunset Church where they were later married. Betty and Dick moved from the Sunset District to the Peninsula in 1954 where they raised their three children. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years. She is survived by her three loving children, Bill Keegan (Cathy), Janet Black (Larry), Lynda Duffy (Dean) as well as her seven adoring grandchildren. Betty is also survived by her devoted brother Jack McInerney, wife Dolores and their six children. Tuesday, August 13, visitation begins at 4:00 followed at 7:00 by a vigil/rosary at Los Altos Chapel of Spangler Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Los Altos on Wednesday, August 14, at 10:00, followed by a graveside service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Los Altos. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to St. Jude's Children Hospital or the charity of your choice.
