Obituary of Eleanor McGlynn Henderson

Eleanor McGlynn Henderson, age 89, long time resident of Los Altos, died peacefully on December 11, 2011. Eleanor was born in Tientsin, China to Robert and Ellen McGlynn. She was preceded in death by her brother Robert and her best friend and identical twin, Evelyn (Dede) Woodward. Their family left China and settled in the Bay Area when she was two where she remained throughout her life. She met the love of her life, her late husband, William Henderson, at Mountain View High School and was married 59 years She is survived by her four daughters: Janice and Thomas Gallagher, Kathy and Lee Newell, Peggy & Marshall Thompson and Judy and Thomas deRegt. Grammy will be missed greatly by her thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren who loved her Irish spirit. A funeral service will be held at St. Nicholas Church, 473 Lincoln Avenue on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 11:30 am. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven, Los Altos following mass. Donations may be made in memory of her late husband to the Alzheimer's Association.
