Donald Albert
Macnab
September 2, 2022
Donald Albert Macnab passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on September 2, 2022 after an extended battle with Huntington's Disease.
Don was born in Boston, MA and moved to Los Altos, CA in 1960. After high school, he pursued a degree in mechanical engineering and later an MA in business administration.
He loved his wife Ginney and their two children Dana and Andrew, and was a great provider. Don led his family in many adventures: boating, water and snow skiing, and camping. He loved to jog, bike and backpack with Ginney.
For many years, Don faithfully drove buses for his church–in the summers, transporting young people to camp, and regularly on Sundays, bringing people from overflow parking areas. For 45 years, he was a faithful member of Los Gatos Christian Church, now Venture Christian Church.
Don worked for 40 years for Westinghouse and then Northrup Grumman on military contracts, including work on missiles and submarine launcher missile tubes. He had a love of design.
In fact, as a child he designed and converted his bedroom into a spider web! He loved to read perched high in a tree or hunkered down in his dad's boat. In high school he became a proud Eagle Scout.
Don had a good sense of humor and showed kindness and generosity to others. He was a solid presence while faithfully following the Lord in wholehearted commitment.
Don is survived by his wife (just short of 50 years of marriage), Virginia Macnab (née Harro), and their two children Dana (Drew) Kjaer and Andrew Macnab, as well as his sister, Barbara Johnson.
