Obituary of Delphine Pearl Duncan

Delphine Pearl Duncan was born July 17, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan to the union of James Poindexter Prince and Anna Lee Green; both parents preceded her in death. Known as Delphine by her family and Del by her friends. Delphine moved to East Palo Alto California from Detroit in 1947 with her Great-Aunt/Mom Belle Brown-Price who raised her and has also preceded her in death. Delphine met the love of her life Alfred V. Duncan, who preceded her in death. Alfred and Delphine were married on June 15, 1963 for 35 years until his death in 1998. Delphine was very active in the Deaf Community, she attended the Berkley School for the Deaf as well as Galluadet University in Washington, DC. Delphine was an avid computer whiz, and worked for the US Geological Survey in Menlo Park California as a Computer Operator. Delphine loved the Lord Jesus and attended mass with her family at St Benedicts Parish in San Francisco California. Delphine loved to sew, make crafts, traveling and enjoyed the company of her family and friends, especially her Unbirthday Buddies and close friends. Delphine also enjoyed attending the monthly meetings of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Seniors Club, where she enjoyed playing Bingo and card games. Being apart of the Deaf Community was truly at the heart of Delphine's life including her beloved family. To cherish Delphine's memory, she leaves behind her 3 children, Alfred, Jr., (Michele), Annebelle, and James. Six grandchildren, Roanna, Amanda, Jordan, Justin, Leroy, and Aaron. Six brothers, Ronald, who precedes her in death, Colbert, Randy, Raymond, Kenneth, Robert, and Eugene Prince, two sisters, Carol Bush, who preceded her in death and Marla Prince, all of Detroit, Michigan. Two uncles Charles Prince, of Baltimore Maryland, Melvin Whiteside of Detroit, Michigan and three aunts, Helen Prince, Annabelle Willis and Lettie Kendricks all of Detroit, Michigan and a hosts of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
