Daniel "Dan" Francis Connell born in San Francisco to Joseph and Marjorie Connell on November 16, 1930, passed away on April 9, 2017.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and their spouses Patricia O'Brien (Jack), Joseph C. Connell (Jean) as well as his brother-in-law Vincent Blake. He is survived by his wife, Denise, and children Lisamarie Rocco, Leann Connell, Blake Connell (Amy); his grandchildren Bryan and Stephanie Rocco, Caitlin and Madeline Connell.

Dan graduated from St. Ignatius College Preparatory, San Francisco, in 1949. In 1953 he received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University. Following college he served in the U.S. Army. Dan was an Aerospace Engineer for over 40 years, retiring from Lockheed Martin in 1996.

Dan was an active Amateur Radio operator, (W6ASD). He held a life- long passion for trains which in later years included the D&D backyard garden railroad. Dan and Denise loved traveling and took many cruises, Alaska being one of their favorite destinations.

Friends and family are invited to a viewing on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 beginning at 5pm followed by a Rosary at 6:30, Spangler's Mortuary, 399 S. San Antonio Rd, Los Altos. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at St. William Church, 611 S. El Monte Ave., Los Altos with a reception following.
