Clayton Tilman
Belton, Jr.
October 23, 2017
Clayton Tilman Belton, Jr. left us at noon, on October 23, 2017.
He leaves behind his brothers, Winstel and Robert Belton, sister in-law Angel Belton, nieces Sarah Belton and Andrea Hubbert, and nephews Wynn and wife Heather Belton, and Helon Belton.
He was the second child born in a family of five children to Ruth and Clayton Belton in Converse, Louisiana on May 8, 1938. During WWII the family seeking better job opportunities moved to Winslow Arizona in 1943. There he spent the remainder of his childhood and teen years. After graduating from Winslow High School in 1957 he sought work in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. During his 13 years working in Milwaukee, Clayton studied computers at a trade school which eventually led to a profession as a computer analyst.
Clayton moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1970, and would eventually work as a computer analyst for the US Postal Service, where he would rise to management positions and eventually retire in 2005.
All who knew Clayton loved and respected him. He was a kind and amenable person, a lover of life and people, and a very giving person who was fun to be around. He will be greatly missed.
His funeral will be held at Alta Mesa Memorial Park in Palo Alto on November 10, at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Clayton's name to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
