Chung Yiu "Cy" Wong, 90, of Sunnyvale, CA, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 8, 2024. He was born on September 23, 1933 to Wong Cheung Cheun and Yan Sheung Kwai in Hong Kong. After graduating from Hong Kong Baptist University, he attended University of California, Berkeley, to earn a master's degree in civil engineering. He started his first job in San Francisco at Bechtel while living in Chinatown. He worked on numerous projects including the East Bay BART stations. After relocating to Pittsburgh, PA, Cy joined Koppers where he served as a principal civil engineer and then continued his profession at R.T. Patterson until his retirement.

In Pittsburgh, Cy met his future wife Frances through friends. Married for over 40 years, they made their home in the South Hills, raising their daughter and son. In the evenings and on weekends, Cy helped his in-laws with their family business, the Hong Kong Restaurant, in Dormont. After retirement and the passing of his wife, he moved to California to be closer to his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time listening to classical music, reading the newspaper, and drinking his morning cup of coffee.

Cy was preceded in death by his wife Frances, brother Chung Yu and sister Mei Ngan (Cong Wing). He is survived by his brother Chung Man (Nancy); his children Stella (Sy) and Eric (Jean); grandchildren Matthew, Lauren, and Katelyn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
